Just a waiting...

So May is finally here, I really never thought it would arrive. I have been more anxious about May getting here then I ever was about my wedding date, which is really the only other thing major in my life that I have counted down. ( Mostly due to the fact that getting fatter by the day was not as fun as losing weight by the day for your wedding date :) ) Oh the things I have already done for this child, he has no idea how hard this has been for me to carry him for 10 months.

What I have come to realize is how hard being a mom really is.. I have an all new respect for mothers, i don't think I have ever realized how much they really sacrifice for their children!! As I am about to meet my little guy a thousand things are running through my head and you will be surprised that one that I am not worried the least bit about is LABOR... I know some of you will be shocked since I have always thought Labor looked horrible.. but at this point I figure Labor will be over by the end of the day, however feeding and taking care of my child will just be beginning and it scares me to death.

How are you suppose to know what a baby is telling you and how are you suppose to all of a sudden know how to feed a baby on your own, change the diaper( without getting peed on), get them to sleep, get yourself to sleep and well my list of questions could go on.. but I feel like this might be the hardest job I have ever done!

The other weird thing is the word "my son" .. in less then two weeks I will be looking at my son ( which by the way, I can't wait to find out if he has a full head of hair or not.. if he has blue or brown eyes.. etc.. ) Let's just say it again, "My son" .. really I have a son.. so weird sounding to me!

Either way, I can't wait for May 17th or any day he chooses to come join us to be here and start this process, and the last month has truly been fun for Drake and I.. he has finally gotten really excited and asks me hundreds of questions, in which case I don't ever know the answer to, but I want him to think I do, so I make answers up!:) SHHH.. don't tell! Drake has been really sweet and might be even more ready for his little guy than I am.  We have taken the last month to do as much as we can before we might be limited some, it has been fun to just do things just the two of us, since it will be soon 3.. ok ok.. sorry Chloe soon be 4!

Till May 17th however, I will continue to enjoy my sleep and time with Drake, however this is how most nights end up at our house.. Yes drake really needs his little guy to get here and play with him..

Together We are Giant...

Yes, by the title of this blog, you might be thinking I am talking about how Easton and I look right now.. because yes we look Giant and well quite huge. However, I am talking about the Orange and Black you see all around San Fran and that is our Good Ole Giants. Last night Drake and I headed up to AT&T Park for a Giants game. This has been on my list of things to do since I moved here, so I am happy I can check it off. It was even more fun however since the Giants are the World Champions because there was all kinds of spirit and different replicas of the trophy and the rings all around. It was fun to see a new stadium, and I don' think one could complain about the view. I love seeing the water just outside the ballpark.

Can everyone please note that I am wearing a scarf and heavy jacket in this picture, that is because it is still cold in this stupid state.. I just want to wear a tube top for a whole day and feel sun rays on my shoulders.. is that to much to ask California..
We had a great time and enjoyed the night out, we only have three weekends with out a little guy around, so we are trying to do as much as possible.

Sneak Peek of Maternity Pictures...

Last Sunday Drake and I went down to Downtown Palo Alto and Stanford to take Maternity Pictures. It was a beautiful day out and we had a great time. Chloe even got to come join in on the fun as well.

We have a wonderful photographer, who I just love. She has amazing work and will be doing Easton's new born pictures as well. I can't wait for him to be here so she can photograph him! Here is a link to our photographer's blog where she has some sneak peeks of our session last Sunday.

ABC...

I found this wonderful little piece when doing my devotional and thought it was to neat not to share! I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Almighty Creator f the Universe
Beloved Father, Mother, God
Create in me a clean heart this day
Deliver me from the limitations of the go
Exalt your presence in my mind
Forgive all that I have held against you, myself and others
Grant me peace this day
Hold me steadfastly within the boundaries of your truth
Inspire my heart to know you, my ears to hear you and my eyes to recognize you
Justify me in the presence of all enemies
Knead my heart with words of kindness
Let no harm befall me or my loved ones
May all I do this day glorify you.
Nourish me with your wisdom
Open my eyes to know your truth
Purge my heart of all things that are offensive to your law
Quiet my soul in the midst of confusion
Renew my connection to you
Save me from my secret fears
Teach me to trust you at all times
Use all that you have given me to serve you
Victory for your cause is my desire
Walk with me so that my strength will never be diminished.
Xamine my heart continually
Your love and grace are my good fortune
Zealously I commit myself to your will for my life

Until today we all might not have been aware of the power of knowing the alphabet. Today devote yourself to relearning the entire alphabet of life!

E News.. Easton we are Ready for you!

It is official, we are 100% ready for Mr. Easton to make his arrival! My mom was in town, and while she was here she was an energizer bunny! She worked and worked and worked, and I can tell you if she hadn't been here, then we would still be overwhelmed just looking at all the baby stuff! How does such a little person, need so much??

Grandma Maggie ( aka my mom) washed every single outfit down to the hats and socks. All burp cloths, blankets and linens have been washed. Bottles have been washed!  All the toys and big items that Easton will need in the first month have been put together, taken out of packages and stocked with batteries! ( Bassinet, Activity Mat, Bouncer, Bobby pillow, stroller, etc)..on the battery note, I think we might go broke buying batteries, I had no idea they all needed batteries!

Grandma Maggie also helped me finish the room, painted the changing table and help me get monitors and things like that all put in a place in the room. If any of you know me really well, you will know I have been freaking out about all this "Baby Crap" sitting out making me house look, well like baby! So many of you will be happy to know that I am finally relieved because everything fit in a cabinet, basket, etc.. tucked away nicely in it's little spot! You won't even know we have a baby when you walk in! :)

I was even putting up a fight about a glider/rocking chair, since I didn't have a good spot for one, but Grandma Maggie got us a rocking chair, and not just the chair but a pillow and throw to make sure that the chair coordinates with the living room, so now I feel like it matches and fits right in! :)

Here is the final product, I hope Easton loves his stuff as much as I do:

This is a picture of Drake when he was little, and I just had to put it in his room! How cute was he! We also have the sweater, so when Easton is big enough, I am going to try to get the same picture of him in the sweater!

Chloe thinks this is her new ride!
Ok, so I guess I should have put 95% ready for Easton, we have one last thing to do, but it is Drake's job, so we all know when it will get done! :) We have to get a new car( we are at the end of a lease), and so first we need to find a car, and then the car seats need to be installed!

California Baby Shower..

This past weekend, My mom flew in and then we drove down to Drake's Moms house. There we got to see lots of family and friends. Drake's twin sister, Jenny has a little baby named Riley and she was there the whole weekend and it was so fun to get to hang out with her. She is so cute and at a great age right now where she was making me laugh.. She is going to crawl any day, but watching her try is pretty cute and then she loved Chloe, I think I might have to get her a doggie (toy, don't worry Jenny ;) )!! She laughed and even gave Chloe kisses.

On top of seeing everyone, Drake's family hosted a wonderful shower for Baby Easton, where he once again got spoiled with way to much! One thing is for sure, he will be one well dressed kid!

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Chloe giving Riley Kisses!

Riley and her new hat!

Riley decided to grab Chloe's face! :)

8 months!!

Riley all dressed up for the shower! So cute!!

The cradle was Drake's when he was a baby, and the blue blanket was his too! I thought that was pretty neat!

The wonderful hostess! I could at least move that chunk of hair for the pictures, goodness I am a mess! :(

Today's Number is 8..

Eight.. Oh how I have  a love/hate relationship with you right now. Today I am 8 months pregnant. While, yes I am always excited to move to another month, merely because that is one month closer to meeting my little guy, this month I find myself a bit annoyed.. Why you ask?? Well for all of my life I have been told and society lets you believe that pregnancy is ONLY 9 MONTHS!! Now, why on earth we let everyone grow up saying 9 months of pregnancy and why we name movies 9 months when they are about babies, I have no idea.. what I do know is I have news for those of you who truly believe that pregnancy is only 9 months and for those of you who already knew this, shame on you for not telling me! :) This 40 week business, is really getting on my nerves today, for today at 8 months, I feel like I should only have one month to go, however I sadly still have 2 months, which is an eternity to me. I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting for Santa Clause, waiting for Christmas day, or in this case May 17th it feels like it is just never going to get here!

Eight is also the number of times that I wake up at night these days, due to this sweet little child that does not know the difference between night and day and well to be quite frank, is making me extremely uncomfortable. Eight is also the number of times that he just kicked me in that last sentence! :) He better be a pro soccer player or a kicker for the football team or something, I just want an explanation for all this kicking that he insist on.

So as of today, if you can't tell I am over being pregnant and so ready for May to arrive and for this little guy to make an appearance. I truly have no reason to complain, I have a wonderful pregnancy and problem free thus far. I am extremely thankful and blessed,  however I just want an explanation of why we say pregnancy is 9 months and it is really 10 months?? I only signed up for 9, and didn't expect this bonus of an extra month!

Let's just hope that 8 is not the number of pounds this baby weights! :)

On a positive note, I had a doctor's appointment today and things are looking great, and this weekend I get to see some of Drake's family for a baby shower and to top it off, I get to see my mom 8 days in a row!
