3 years of Marriage and 3 houses later...

So lets hope this trend of moving every year does not keep up, I simply can't handle another move for a while! Good news though is that we are officially all moved and all back to normal! I survived the weekend on my own and still made it to all 3 of my events. I was pretty happy with the outcome of the weekend.

Recap:

Friday: God knew I could not do this alone and was of course watching over me and sent me an little gift and she goes by the name of Gina Smalley! She is a lady in my bible study group, who called me on Friday and offered to take Easton off my hands for the whole day. It was truly a God send, because she kept him and I got a big chunk of stuff done on Friday! I am so thankful for her. Friday night, my MOPS group had a date night opportunity, where you can drop your kid off for 3 hours and then go out on a date with your husband. So even though Drake was gone, I sure did take Easton over there, and then I went to Wendy's and Target all by myself! Now, that is a date night I know you all dream of! :)

Saturday: Moving day is here, the movers were also wonderful, they got me loaded, and unloaded all by 1pm on Saturday! It was great.. My other God Send was my other friend named Gina, who came and took Easton to the mall with her and watched him for the day. She also then took him home with her and watched him all night so I could go to my first Junior League Charity Event that I had signed up to volunteer at. I owe her big time! Without her, I would have been crying in the corner, I am sure of it.

Sunday: I woke up at like 5am with the dumb time change and had this great idea that I was going to get all this stuff unpacked, however Easton was not on board with my idea. The next few hours proved how wonderful the girls who watched Easton all weekend had been.. I didn't get one box unpacked when I was by myself with Easton. I couldn't even pull out my bad mom moves and put Estien on over and over, we didn't have it hooked up. The day got better, because Easton went to his first birthday party for our friend Sloane and then our friend Lindsay came over and watched Easton while I finished a huge chunk of boxes.
Once agian, I am so thankful for all my friends who helped me, I would literally be sitting in boxes still.

Monday: Drake took off the day after a short meeting in the morning and I had a game plan for us.. I was the coach and he was the player, I told him the play and he executed them. It was great team work and in the in, I would say that we won, because we had every box out of the house, the garage cleaned out and I could park in there!  ( Just for those who are counting: Number of times Drake has been around for a move (0)  and number of times Casey has been around (3) .. I am not liking this score)

All in all, I am happy with the new house, things turned out pretty good and I know that Goodwill is staying in business with all of our moves, I just keep cleaning out or maybe I have a fear of being on the hoarders show or something I don't know.. let's just hope that we don't have another move for a while!

Here are some pics..

Chloe is making sure that she does not get left, she unsure about all of this.

2 weeks of fun..

The past two weeks have been a blast. We started off by going to visit my parents! It was a great trip and so fun to get to see my parents play with Easton. I just wish we were closer! Then Drake and I went to Dallas and went to a good friends wedding, which was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been too, and with no baby duty for the weekend, it was wonderful! :)

I arrived home and Drake's mom and twin sister Jenny, came to visit! Jenny has a 1 year old named Riley, and it was so fun to see Riley walk around and feed herself people food, I so wish Easton could do that! Easton was also in love with Riley, he would just stare at her, and I think secretly wonder, " why can't I do all this stuff..". Drake's other sister, Lisa and her 1 year old came down too and we all went to the pumpkin patch! It was so fun.. However, I am defiantly on hold for baby number 2. Three little ones around is crazy and each baby even had their own mommy, what if I was the mommy of all 3!! Goodness that is scary! :)

Here are some pictures from our fun weeks:

Another month has flown by.. Mr. E is 5 months

Yet again another month has flown by! Little man continues to amaze me each day, as he learns to do new things! This month he had a few biggies.. first being that he is the KING of rolling over onto his belly. He figured it out one day, and before you knew it, he was rolling everywhere. It is funny to see where he ends up, and half of the time I wish I had a video camera on him to see how many times and different ways he had to roll over to get to his ending positions. It is quite comical at times.

The second big thing this month, is he got his two bottom teeth! Oh yes, it was a surprise. One day, he was sucking on my finger and when he bit down, I was like "OH MY GOSH THAT HURT" , and I looked in his little mouth to find two little bottom teeth. Where the heck did the come from!!

We are still working on hair, I hope that this time next month, I am reporting that he has more hair! It is really light so what little he has is hard to see! :)

He is holding onto his own bottle, which I love! I hate holding that thing. He knows what his bottle is for sure, you should see the kid when he sees it come out! You would think we hadn't eaten in days! He is doing good on his eating, he has had butternut squash, green beans, bananas, peaches and avocado. Favorite so far are squash and frozen bananas and least favorite is peaches.. this is so not my child! :)

He is talking and blowing bubbles, starting to sit up a bit on his own ( just a few seconds), but have no fear the kid has not stopped smiling! He thinks everything is so funny, I think he has actually boost my self esteem over the past month, since he smiles and laughs at everything I do and say, I am beginning to think I am quite funny!

Here are some pictures of our month:

This is fun mom!!

Check out my new ride, mom loves that it is much smaller than the BOB!

Life is good!

I can sit up a bit! :)

Do you want to join us at dinner time??

Yep, I even roll over on my changing table!!

I got a new bath too!!
We hope you all have a good month!!

What a weekend.. :(

So I have to start this post with a positive, and that is why Easton's picture is first instead of at the end, like normal. To start, I am redeeming myself from my bad mom title, since I took Easton to the pumpkin patch!! :) I figure that is a good mom thing to do. That is about all the positive we had this weekend.

We all know how I started Friday off, so let's skip the whole, "locking my child in the car topic" and on to the rest of the weekend. Saturday our land lord came over, unexpectedly and informed us that we need to move out and we have 30-45 days! SERIOUSLY, I feel like I am right back where we started a year ago. I had to hold it my tears, because just the thought of moving again really upsets me. I just figured this place out and all my little surroundings. I have a favorite nail place, a cleaners that knows me as I pull up and started getting to know some people on the street. I have joined all these mom groups and found a Church that is all close and convenient, and more importanly that we love. So now, I might lose some of that and not to mention I have to PACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is scary. Easton's nursey is all painted and cute and wellI  hope he liked his 4 months of it. :( .. So while all this was running through my head and wanted to cry  all at the same time I wanted to punch the guy in the face as he was telling us. They lied to us and told us they were never moving back in and we could live in here for 3-4 years!

So now we have to frantically find a place to live which is just plain stressful. But I had some retail therapy ( actually Drake and I both did, that is how stress we both got).. so I was calmer and I figure things will work out.. but then Sunday I go to Church get Easton dropped off at the nursery and get to my seat and Drake calls, and tells me that I have all the sets of keys in my purse, therefore he can not get to work ( the 49ers have a game today).. so I have no choice but to go get Easton and go back home. So all the getting ready to be at church for 5 mins. So annoying! .. and yes don't ask why I had all the keys in my purse! :) Not the way I wanted to start the day.

So then I decide to take Easton to the pumpkin patch, and well after a 30 min drive, the pumpkin patch has decided to move on me. It is just so nice to be greeted by the sign "Sorry, we have moved, please come visit us at our new location".. NOT!! So I mapquest it and find it is really about 5 mins from my house. So all this driving just so we could go 5 mins from our house, our should I say not our house anymore! :(

Good news is that we did make it to the pumpkin patch!!

So wish us luck as we try to find somewhere to live in 30 days and don't you worry, Chloe has already decided to find all the fleas she can, and bring them back to the house, so these people will get the house in exactly the same condition they left it in. ( I mean that is the right thing to do??)

This guy will keep things in perspective for me this week! He has taught me Patience and that nothing else really matters but family! We will make it through this move!! :)

Voted "Worst Mom" today...

Oh what a day!! It started so good, to start with it is Friday, and well aren't Friday's always good days. I got up early went to the gym, went by the bank and treated myself to Starbucks ( and yes, I got nervous once again as I ordered and this time I messed up and well I am still not sure what I ordered, I just said yes to the lady.. ). So needless to say I was off to a good day. Came home, got Easton up and ready to go to MOPS at Church. MOPS was great and so afterwards, I decided we needed a little treat so we went to nordstrom rack.

I found some great stuff, and then we were headed home.. so I thought..

Before we could go home, I had to be a "RE RE" and lock Easton in the car along with my phone!!! Yes, that is right, I am the horrible mom who locked their child in the car. So what to do??? Well I have no phone, and so I happen to see some ladies walking to their car, so I run over to them.. "Excuse me, do you have a phone I can borrow, I just locked my baby in the car"..  you know they are thinking in their heads," What a crazy lady, who does that".

So they pull out their phones, and my first question is, "Who do I call??". I don't know Drake's number by heart, that is what speed dial is for and so long story short we call  911, and they send the Fire Department over to us.

Just so you know, it is very embarrassing to have the big ole fire truck pull up and then everyone in the parking lot wants to know what is going on.. ahhh I suck!

After a while, we finally get the car unlocked and get Mr. Easton out! This whole time he was laughing and smiling at me as I was talking to him through the window.. he apparently didn't care that he was about to overheat!

So this post is for all the fireman out there, we love you and are thankful for you!!!

These are the nice men who helped us!!
I hope to redeem myself soon, so stay tuned for a " I rock as a mom" post! :)

Baking vs. Pureeing

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a huge sweet tooth. It is actually a huge problem, so naturally I diagnosed the problem with allowing myself to eat ice cream if I put granola in it, I mean granola is good for your right?? .. Actually half of my problem is I love to bake. I like trying new things and in return I normally fail the first time, but the second time I normally decide to just go basic and play it safe. My cake balls never fail me!

One of my favorite parts of baking is scrapping the batter off the bowl and well eating it of course. Never gets old!!! So as much as I would love to "bake" some nice little cake balls for Mr. E, I don't think my pediatrician would be very happy with me and something tells me that I would technically pay for it later, if you know what I mean. So I have resisted that urge, and I have decided to give it a try at making Easton's baby food. What I found during this process of pureeing his food, is that I still like scrapping the "baby food" off the bowl and well making sure it is edible. I have found that baby food is not all the bad. I have decide that my motto will be, " If I wouldn't eat it, then Easton shouldn't eat it".

So, I spent Friday getting my supplies and made my first two batches of stuff. So up first for Mr. E in the cereal department is Banana Oatmeal. Of course, followed by some bananas. He has had some the last few days and actually really likes it. Up next for him on the veggie side is, butternut squash! We will see how that goes!

I have really enjoyed making his food so far, I think I could get used to just pureeing and not baking. I mean it might be a good thing, I could afford to lay off the sweets for a while! Do you think I can puree cookies?? :)

Here's to Easton eating his veggies this week!

Oatmeal, Bananas and Butternut Squash coming right up!

Hope he likes the Squash, he has 14 servings in the frezzer!

He just likes to make a mess! :)
