Daddy/Son Weekend

This weekend marks the first weekend Drake has had Easton for an entire weekend and over night by himself. He was very nervous, although he would never admit it. He was asking all kinds of questions each night leading up to the weekend. I do have to say that you will be pleasantly surprised with how well he did.

This was Easton's line up with Daddy for the weekend:

- Saturday Morning Drake took Easton to the mall playground that is close by.

-Saturday Afternoon Drake took Easton to Home Depot to also get some of the chores taken care of that I had a on a list for him.

I hope everyone takes note of who else was in the cart... yep, he even took Chloe with him. :)

-Saturday Evening Drake took Easton and Chloe to the park, so Easton could swing!

- Sunday Morning, Easton got waffles made by Daddy

- Sunday Afternoon Easton and Daddy have a nice little lunch

Please notice that Drake carried the diaper bag all the way in with him.. I just wish I could have seen that! He also brought all of Eastons food to the restaurant. Such a good daddy!

- Sunday Evening they had another trip to the playground at the mall

I would say that Drake did pretty darn good considering he has never taken him out on his own either. I do think that Drake might have gotten himself into a little problem... Easton will now expect this all the time! I know Easton thinks Daddy is way cooler than Mommy.. I am sure not doing all of that! :) And did I mention, that I only got ONE phone call about what to do!!! :)

I was super proud of Drake and I loved seeing my boys play together. So while they were enjoying their weekend, I was in Napa with my grandma and her friend Suzie. We had a great time and really enjoyed the wine!

Hawaii...

Last week Drake and I got a nice little treat and got to go to Hawaii! We left Easton at with Grandparents and off we went. It was so nice to just feel "normal" again! It was nice to just carry a clutch instead of an over flowing bag of baby gear. I didn't have one once of spit up on me for 5 days, that was amazing! So you get the idea, on the flip side I felt like I saw little babies everywhere. Each time I saw one, I totally missed Easton's big grin and his little laugh.

Non the less, it was nice to get away and have some fun! My friend Gina was there too, so we went hiking one morning and on some walks to explore the island. Drake and I went snorkeling one day, and I loved it. I got to see lots of pretty fish. Other than that, we laid out, relaxed and might have had a few drinks or two.. :)

Here are some pics..

I don't have a lot of great pictures, it was hard to carry the camera around! So this is all I got!

E's first visit to Cabelas...

Yesterday was a big adventure for Mr.E!!! He had his first trip to my dad's favorite store!! Cabelas!!!!! While girls can spend hours at the mall, my dad can literally spend hours at Cabelas!! I on the other hand can not spend more than 5 seconds there, thank goodness for the displays and aquarium! Easton was fascinated as well by these!! Here are some pictured from our trip!!

Easton was to interested in all the animals to smile for a picture!

Easton loved the aquarium and was not one bit scared of the fish!

More fish up there...

Easton asked Pop if he could go on a safari hunt!! Pop said sure! :)

I can't wait to be posting about Easton and Pop's first hunting trip together!

Best gift I have ever given...

We all dream about our weddings as little girls. We think about our dress, the flowers, the cakes and well obviously who will the groom be??? Planning my wedding was pretty easy for the most part and things went smoothly, until I started thinking about what will I get Drake for a wedding present?? I was at a loss, this is not on our list when we dream about our weddings as a kid!!

When watching all my cheesy lifetime movies that I love, I always saw brides give the grooms these amazing gifts, but these gifts were not in my budget, so what to get.. I was very stressed about this, and just to put it out there, I will let you know Drake of course was not stressed about this, because he just didn't get me anything!! :) I don't know how I still made it down then Aile, how come nobody told me he was just setting the stage for the married life of no gifts.. some one should have told me to run while I still could! :) kidding..

So anyways back to my gift.. after some long thought, I came up with what I thought was a great gift. Drake's dad had past away a few years before, and I know that he misses him a lot but misses him most on big important days/events and when he needs advice. So I decided to make sure his Dad was by his side on the day of our wedding. I got a pocket watch and put a picture of his mom and dad on their wedding day in the watch. This way he could have the watch in his pocket on the day of the wedding, and his dad would be right by his side to guide him. Drake loved the gift, but little did I know that this would be a gift that he truly treasured and thought of often.

Last Tuesday I came home for a day, and as I was scrambling to unpack and repack, I noticed that the pocket watch was sitting out on the dresser. At first, I thought this was weird, because it has a nice little home in a special box, it is never out. Then it came to me, Drake had taken it out and carried it with him to the 49er game ( which for those that don't know, was one of the biggest games ever). Tears started to fill my eyes as I thought about how special it is to know that at 30 something years old ( he won't admit his age) he wanted his Daddy by his side... I know he talked to him all about the game and realied on him when the game got tense!!

This is not the first time that the pocket watch has come out, he also grabbed it when we left for the hospital to have Easton. He had it in his pocket the whole labor..

I knew that the gift of the pocket watch would be great for the wedding, I just had no idea that it would be a gift of comfort and guidence for him for a lifetime, therefore, I just don't think I can ever give a better gift to someone.  So maybe I should just jump on the no gift theme like him :) .. Kidding, I just think it is the sweetest thing that he grabs it when he needs his Dad!

And Easton is with Grandma Maggie and Pop for a week...

I left Easton today with my mom for a week and I am feeling kinda bad.. now don't get any crazy ideas that I am feeling bad about being away from Easton for a week.. because I could not be more excited about spend the week on the beach with a nice drink in my hand ! Believe me the constant spit up, the diaper changes and the feeding times won't be missed. I am feeling bad because I know it is going to be a lot of work for my parents and I hope its not to bad for them.

I have defiantly had a talk with Easton about how he should be on his best behavior, and I am 100% sure he understood every word and will be such an such an angel.. NOT!!! He is into everything and well not sure if he really wants to listen to the words, " NO NO"!

None the less, I am sure that he will be spoiled rotten and get held way to much.. which then will be my problem when I get him back.

Here are some pictures so far at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

I don't think he will miss me much!!

Grandpa doesn't leave his sight and let's him play all day!

Easton decided he would help Grandma Maggie with the dishes!! Can't take your eye off him!

I think I will just play in my basket of toys!
Something tells me Easton won't even know I am gone! :)

2/3's the way there...

Today is the day that my man turns 8 months.. Time is flying, but I love this stage, well I pretty much love every stage after 3 months! :)

We are eating baby waffles, pizza, grilled chesse, and still all the fruits and veggies. Mommy loves that at lunch I can just find something on my plate and hand it over!! We make daily trips to the park, and we can actually run errands with out a feeding or a diaper change!!  We play and laugh all day, and Easton loves riding on my back.. he thinks its so fun! I have also learned that there is no need for toys, Easton loves water bottles, dog toys/bowls and any water just as much!

We have hair.. but pictures are getting a bit harder, he won't stay still for any of them!
Ok, I know I have had a lot of post lately, but I promise  this is the last one.. I will be gone for 3 weeks!! You will get a break from me! :)
