Back to School...

Every year for as long as I can remember, I have always gotten giddy for the back to school section that gets displayed in late July early August at the stores. I always loved school as a kid so getting all new school supplies was always a big day at my house. I loved when I scored that "super cool 5 star trapper keeper binder".. yea you can call me a nerd. I was just as organized and OCD about things as I am today.

In college it wasn't as much about the school supplies as it was about getting that first day of class syllabus that was then going to outline my whole semester and tell me what parties I was going to be able to enjoy drinking some good ole drinks ( of course only after I was 21) and which parties I was going to have to get up and study for an exam the next day! I loved mapping out the semester with all the classes and color coding my calender with the different classes! yep, I was still a nerd..

Then as a teacher, I got to do all of this in one, what a dream!:) Each year I bought all new supplies for my classroom ( knowing good and well that my students were going to trash it all). I also got to plan out my lessons and semester, making sure I was covering all my topics. Let's just say I never really complained about going backing to school, even when it was called work.

So the last two years have been a little hard for me considering, I did not get to do any of this. I always tried to think of something fun I could buy out of the school supply section, like a fun binder or something, but since I really had not one use for it, it was really no fun! I have been sad as all my friends go back to school, and I still do the same ole same ole with my little man!

But this year ladies and gentleman, this will be different, because I am going back!!!!!!!!!!!! You are looking at the newest 8th grade math teacher for Quimby Oak Middle School for the next 60 something school days! :) Yea, so it's not full time, but it's a long term sub position for a teacher on maternity leave, and it feels so good to be going back.

This whole job totally feel in my lap, so I know it is God's answer to my prayers, as I have really been itching to go back, however not totally wanting to go back. You know that job that every mom wants, the one where you go to work when your kid is driving you nuts and you stay home when your kid is being super sweet. Yea, I prayed for that kind of job, and this is what God came up with. It is actually pretty awesome, because I get to truly see what a full time job is like, with out having to commit to a long time period. I am calling it a trail run, if I totally regret doing it, it is only 60 days and afterwards I can be a litte more thankful for my opportunity to stay home, and if I love it, then I know for sure that I need to get a full time job! It really is the best of both worlds. (However,  Drake is not sure this is the "best of both worlds" because he will now be getting Easton up, feed, and dressed and will be dropping him off with Miss Diana, every morning!!)

So with that, I am off to target to get me some supplies and Monday I will be at work working on my syllabus! :)

Friday Fun Day..

Friday was a big day for Mr. E. We went to the swimming pool with his buddy, Drew. They have a membership at a country club called, Courtside. It was so nice, because the pool has a small pool for kiddos, that has to be like 1 foot deep or so, which means Easton can stand on his own in the pool. Do you know where I am going with this... yes, that is right, I don't even have to get in the pool with him! Score.........

Easton played in the pool for an hour and half all by himself. ( Side note, before anyone reports me for being a bad mom, I was sitting on the edge of the pool watching him ) He would run from one side to the other and then under the mushroom and then repeat. He loved it. Drew his buddy was no so much a fan, so I felt kinda bad because we were the guest and my child wouldn't get out of the water, and poor little drew cried half the time and sat with my friend the other half.

Then after we left this pool, our friends invited us over for lunch and more swimming in their pool. So of course we went, it was fun Friday, and I was looking for a good way to wear him out, since we were having a dinner party at the house that night. I needed him ready for bed! :)

Hope everyone had a great Friday, and are enjoying their weekend! And for the record, my man basically passed out on me and slept right the dinner party, so mission accomplished! :)

Happy Anniversary..

Four years ago today, I married my best friend and it was one of the best days of my life! I still remember the fun, the friends who were there, the family that traveled to be there and the look on Drake's face when I walked down the aisle.

It was a day I will never forget, but what I have enjoyed more is the life we have created over the last 4 years. It just gets better and better, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for us. Here is to many more years of love and laughter!

Date Night...

Oh how I wish this post was about a date night for Drake and I, but as most of us know, Football season has started. Football season equals no date nights for us for now. So when I can't have a date, why not let Easton have a date! :)

One of Easton many girlfriends here in the bay area came over last night. I watched both of them while the boys were at a dinner, and it was so fun to watch Easton play with Kenzie. Kenzie is 2 and one of the most verbal girls I have met for her age. She walked in and told me, " Wow you have beautiful toys". haha I thought it was so funny!

The two played all night, and Easton had one pretty bad fall where I thought I might have to take him to the emergency room, but thankfully my doctor talked me through what to do. After it was all over, I had to tell Easton that it is not classy to "fall" on dates, and he better never go on another date that even remotely requires an emergency room visit, for the rest of his life! :)

After a small hiccup in the night, the two decided it was movie and popcorn time. This is how it went over..

Popcorn all over the couch!!

Chloe can't wait for date night again, she loved all the droppings! :)

The two even ended the night with a kiss.. hope you can see the video!!

A day at the Boo... aka at the Zoo...

Today Easton and I met our friends at the Zoo. Easton heard me saying Zoo, and started saying boo all day. I am not sure if I should be worried yet, because he also says Boo in response to, "What sound does a cow make". So for now, I will just take it that he wants to be a ghost for Halloween, and not that he is always missing his first syllablus.

The Happy Hollow Zoo was super fun, it had a petting zoo, rides, a park and lots of areas to have a little picnic. Easton really wanted to ride the Roller Coaster, being that he could not keep his eyes off it, and he just stared at it when it was going. He is to small to ride it, so I felt kinda bad for him, you could tell he didn't understand why he wasn't aloud to go on the ride. I think I need to remind him that he is only 14 months, and that and roller coasters don't go together!

He was able to ride lots of other rides, all by himself too.. So on our way out, I decided that we liked it so much that we are now brand new owners of a year membership to the Zoo. Looks like we will be going a lot! ;)

Easton and his rides...

Easton and his buddy Drew. I love the one of them walking, it looks like they are having a full on conversation

South Korea on my mind...

Today Drake's brother and his family are moving to South Korea to live for 2 years. This is a huge change, but is going to be a wonderful experience for them. I am super happy for them, and hope they have a blast! Everyone say a prayer today as they embark on this adventure! We will miss them, but 2 years will fly by!

Vegas...

So while Easton played at Grammy's House, Drake and I played in Vegas! I had really never been to just play, so we thought why not, lets go before the Football season starts and I pretty much lose my husband! :)

Got to see lots of people while I was there, so that was fun! :) We really enjoyed ourselves, but I will say that I don't need to go back anytime soon! Vegas has way to many half dressed girls walking around, crazy drunk people and people who stay up way to late for me! :) I think might finally realize I am a mom!

The best part of the trip was Friday night, where I got to see, non other than.......

I loved the show, and I love Garth Brooks even more! Drake who doesn't even know a single song, said it was a great show! That is saying something people...

Then Saturday we did a long pool day, and Vegas pools are quite a scene! Drake and I waited in line to go into some club liquid pool! I really just wanted to see the scene, it was a bit crazy..
I forgot to take a picture when it got crazy, this was early! .. but please look at the random girl dancing on the box that had to do that in her swim suit for hours!

All in all Vegas was a great weekend, just wish I had better pictures, but Drake told me it wasn't cool to carry around my big camera.. I kinda agreed!
