E News.. Easton we are Ready for you!

It is official, we are 100% ready for Mr. Easton to make his arrival! My mom was in town, and while she was here she was an energizer bunny! She worked and worked and worked, and I can tell you if she hadn't been here, then we would still be overwhelmed just looking at all the baby stuff! How does such a little person, need so much??

Grandma Maggie ( aka my mom) washed every single outfit down to the hats and socks. All burp cloths, blankets and linens have been washed. Bottles have been washed!  All the toys and big items that Easton will need in the first month have been put together, taken out of packages and stocked with batteries! ( Bassinet, Activity Mat, Bouncer, Bobby pillow, stroller, etc)..on the battery note, I think we might go broke buying batteries, I had no idea they all needed batteries!

Grandma Maggie also helped me finish the room, painted the changing table and help me get monitors and things like that all put in a place in the room. If any of you know me really well, you will know I have been freaking out about all this "Baby Crap" sitting out making me house look, well like baby! So many of you will be happy to know that I am finally relieved because everything fit in a cabinet, basket, etc.. tucked away nicely in it's little spot! You won't even know we have a baby when you walk in! :)

I was even putting up a fight about a glider/rocking chair, since I didn't have a good spot for one, but Grandma Maggie got us a rocking chair, and not just the chair but a pillow and throw to make sure that the chair coordinates with the living room, so now I feel like it matches and fits right in! :)

Here is the final product, I hope Easton loves his stuff as much as I do:

This is a picture of Drake when he was little, and I just had to put it in his room! How cute was he! We also have the sweater, so when Easton is big enough, I am going to try to get the same picture of him in the sweater!

Chloe thinks this is her new ride!
Ok, so I guess I should have put 95% ready for Easton, we have one last thing to do, but it is Drake's job, so we all know when it will get done! :) We have to get a new car( we are at the end of a lease), and so first we need to find a car, and then the car seats need to be installed!

California Baby Shower..

This past weekend, My mom flew in and then we drove down to Drake's Moms house. There we got to see lots of family and friends. Drake's twin sister, Jenny has a little baby named Riley and she was there the whole weekend and it was so fun to get to hang out with her. She is so cute and at a great age right now where she was making me laugh.. She is going to crawl any day, but watching her try is pretty cute and then she loved Chloe, I think I might have to get her a doggie (toy, don't worry Jenny ;) )!! She laughed and even gave Chloe kisses.

On top of seeing everyone, Drake's family hosted a wonderful shower for Baby Easton, where he once again got spoiled with way to much! One thing is for sure, he will be one well dressed kid!

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Riley decided to grab Chloe's face! :)

8 months!!

Riley all dressed up for the shower! So cute!!

The cradle was Drake's when he was a baby, and the blue blanket was his too! I thought that was pretty neat!

The wonderful hostess! I could at least move that chunk of hair for the pictures, goodness I am a mess! :(

Today's Number is 8..

Eight.. Oh how I have  a love/hate relationship with you right now. Today I am 8 months pregnant. While, yes I am always excited to move to another month, merely because that is one month closer to meeting my little guy, this month I find myself a bit annoyed.. Why you ask?? Well for all of my life I have been told and society lets you believe that pregnancy is ONLY 9 MONTHS!! Now, why on earth we let everyone grow up saying 9 months of pregnancy and why we name movies 9 months when they are about babies, I have no idea.. what I do know is I have news for those of you who truly believe that pregnancy is only 9 months and for those of you who already knew this, shame on you for not telling me! :) This 40 week business, is really getting on my nerves today, for today at 8 months, I feel like I should only have one month to go, however I sadly still have 2 months, which is an eternity to me. I feel like a kid at Christmas waiting for Santa Clause, waiting for Christmas day, or in this case May 17th it feels like it is just never going to get here!

Eight is also the number of times that I wake up at night these days, due to this sweet little child that does not know the difference between night and day and well to be quite frank, is making me extremely uncomfortable. Eight is also the number of times that he just kicked me in that last sentence! :) He better be a pro soccer player or a kicker for the football team or something, I just want an explanation for all this kicking that he insist on.

So as of today, if you can't tell I am over being pregnant and so ready for May to arrive and for this little guy to make an appearance. I truly have no reason to complain, I have a wonderful pregnancy and problem free thus far. I am extremely thankful and blessed,  however I just want an explanation of why we say pregnancy is 9 months and it is really 10 months?? I only signed up for 9, and didn't expect this bonus of an extra month!

Let's just hope that 8 is not the number of pounds this baby weights! :)

On a positive note, I had a doctor's appointment today and things are looking great, and this weekend I get to see some of Drake's family for a baby shower and to top it off, I get to see my mom 8 days in a row!

Sister Comes to Visit...

This past week, I got a big treat and my sister Randi came out to visit for the first time since I have moved out to California. We had a great time however, it really made me miss her. I miss the one unique year we had in Dallas. Not many people get to work everyday with their sister and have so much fun. On the brighter side, it makes visits so much fun!

We were true tourist this week. We started the week off by taking a trip to Half Moon Bay and eating lunch on the water. We then stopped by the dish at Standford and walked this, this might not have been my brightest idea, while it had beautiful views and was so pretty, it made me extremely sore and tired. 8 months pregnant and walking hills equals no bueno!

We got up the next day and took the train to the city, where we walked some more, again not my best ideas. We shopped in Union Square, took a trolley to Fisherman's and then toured Fisherman's. We finished the night off with Sushi at Santana Row and some Drinks, where Drake was able to meet us!

The last day, we rented bikes and road around the city and across the Golden Gate. On this note, I would like to stop and say that from now on, I will be admiring all bike riders that I see around the city, for there is no such thing as a leisure bike ride around the city and across the bridge. It is freakin hard work, and for now on I will be giving the right away to all bike riders, it will be the least they deserve after making it up some of the hills you have to make it up to get to the bridge. I was dying at times on this bike ride, and was even caught walking my bike up hills! After what I call a workout, not a simple little bike ride, Randi and I finished the day off by taking the night tour of Alcatraz. SCARY and FREAKY..

It was a great week and so nice to have my sister here! Here are some pictures from the week!

I am pretty sure that I would not want any operstion on this operation table in the hospital on Alcatraz!!

Tahoe..

At the last minute Drake and I decided to head up to Tahoe for the weekend! It has been a wonderful weekend and nice to relax and get away. At the same time, I have been amazed by all the snow and the fact that it is still winter here, I feel like spring is suppose to be here, but it is still snowing! I love it though!

We were able to go on walks around the house, and it amazes me how different things look in the winter from the summer times when I have been here. We went to the casinos, where I of course lost money. We had drinks up at the top of one of the casinos, where the view was beautiful and Drake cheered on his college basketball team! Apparently, I am a gaucho fan now! ;) Drake snowboarded all of today, and I met him at the top of the mountain for lunch! The only problem with this part of our plan, is that it decided to start snowing and blow wind at 55 mph, so they closed the Gondola to get back down the mountain, most people skied down, but that was a bit of a problem for me! Luckily I finally made it down and all is well! :)

We are headed back in the morning to San Jose, and my sister comes on Tuesday! Yea!!!

The water is all frozen over!

I am not trained for snow, and I literally almost feel like 10 times!

Our own little iceberg on the porch of the house!

Gondola

Drake in is ski gear ( he got new pants and was so excited) !

Clearly I don't fit in with the skiers, who wears jeans and steve madden boots up to the top of the  mountain??

Drake taking a break from snowboarding!

So pretty!

THANKS JOE AND MAGGIE FOR LETTING US USE THE HOUSE THIS WEEK!!!

Round Rock Baby Shower..

This past weekend I have been able to spend one last weekend at home when it is just me, because for now own, it will be both Easton and I when we come home, and really for that matter, it will only be about Easton at that point! Casey who?? :)

Easton and I were very blessed this weekend with a wonderful shower hosted by my my mom's good friend Melynda Love, who did a fabulous job! It was just the most precious shower. Lots of friends and family were able to attend it Easton is already considered spoiled with the amount of cute things he got! Believe me there will no be a shortage of cute clothes for him!

It has also been nice to be back and see some family and friends. Here are some pictures from the shower!

My mom made a scrapbook for Easton for the whole first year of his life. All I have to do is put the pictures in it as he grows up! How wonderful is that! ;)

Sweet Girls!

The wonderful Host!

Thank you to everyone who came to the shower and for those who could not be there but still sent well wishes and thought of us! Easton is one lucky boy! :) 7  1/2 months today and 2 1/2 to go! :)
