Little man is growing up on me..

Today was Easton's first day of MDO Preschool. He had a great day, and when I picked him up he seemed so happy playing with the other kiddos. I will tell you though, that I have to hand it to the parents who work and take their kids to school everyday, it is a lot of work to get kids packed, ready and off to school.

All ready to go with his lunch all packed!
So while he was at school, I was getting so much done. It is amazing how much I can get done with out him. It is a much needed little break! I am pretty sure Monday's are my new favorite day of the week! :)

So to go along with my little guy growing up, Sunday he said his first word. You can all take a guess as to what it was..... Dada.. I was a little sad, why was it not mama.. but to be honest he has no idea he said it, it kinda rolls off his tongue with some da da da.. dada.. da da da..! But what is crazy to me, is up to Sunday he really wasn't babbling a ton, just ahhhh and different pitches with his voice, but no words or gaga's. Then Sunday he was sitting next to him and all of a sudden he said ga ga gaga!! I was like, what did you just say.. and I then he started with the da's. I swear he has not stopped since. I am always amazed how one day these kids can't do something and then next they can. I have a feeling a lot of his has to do with Easton watching his cousin this past week who was copying everything anyone said. I think he thought pretty hard about it and then just busted out with some words. My kind of boy! :)

So with that, I hope that I can report that he is saying mama.. soon!

To Grammy's house we go..

This week Easton and I flew down to Grammy's house to visit her and Drake's sister, Jenny! Jenny has two adorable little girls, and the youngest was recently born, so it was our first time to meet her. Maddison Rose is super cute and a GREAT baby. Both of the girls are such good babies, and then there was Easton... ( Easton is good, just simple a Boy)

We had a great time, we went to the Zoo and saw lots of monkeys. I was especially excited because I saw a baby monkey, who we think was a day old. Either way, it was really neat! Then we went to the park and feed the ducks. Easton wanted to get in the pond with ducks, and when given bread to feed the ducks, he feed himself! :)

I loved watching the cousins play together, and can't wait as they all get older and can play even more. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Riley and Easton playing!

Sweetest picture ever.. Riley is hugging her sister Maddie! Easton just wants to join in! :)

Someone turned 4 today...

While we wish this was Easton turning 4.. it is our other little baby, Miss CHLOE!! :) I would like to say that she had a great day, but frankly I have to admit.. I forgot it was her birthday till about 5 o'clock tonight.. I am a horrible doggy mom!

I felt so bad when I figured it out, that I made Drake make a u turn and head straight to the Petsmart! I picked Chloe up a few extra treats to make up for the fact that I forgot. Poor Chloe, she has really been getting a lot less attention now that someone else has taken over the house, and Chloe has been showing us she is not happy about it.. so this was defiantly not a good thing! Hope I made up for it.. :)

Happy 4th birthday Chloe!! We love you!

9 months.. where has time gone!!

I hate these pictures now mom, please stop making me do them!!

Some how this little man is 9 months old already! I really don't know where time is going! As you can see from the picture he is getting bigger and getting lots of hair. We had a doctors appointment yesterday and he weights 17lbs 13 oz ( 11%) and is 29 inches long (79%)!!  He has 6 teeth and 2 ready to pop through any day!! He hasn't said his first word yet, but he definatly understands a lot.. NO NO is one that he understands, but dosn't alwasy choose to follow! I won't be surpurised if I am called to the prinicpals office a few times when he is in school!

My little man is a true mess, he is always into something and always on the go. I envy those moms who's little babies just sit in their lab all cute! Easton is a sqarmer.. so annoying at times. He is fun though. If he could talk he would tell you his favorite part of the day is bath time.. he loves water!! His least favorite part of the day would be at any diaper change time ( you would die if you saw the westling match we have about 5 times a day).

Easton is eating pretty much everything, which is nice, he just gets a little bit of whatever we are eating for dinner and then just a few purees just to make sure he is getting enough fruits/veggies.. he has been known to feed Chloe from his highchair.. so we never know exactly what he has eaten and what chloe has eaten.

Easton also follows me around the house at all times, so he makes all chores twice as hard, but it is funny to see him try to figure things out.

All in all Easton is doing great, is super fun and keeps us laughing all the time!

This is Easton's new bath tub and he loves it!! So no more sink for him!

I just loved this picture!!

Daddy/Son Weekend

This weekend marks the first weekend Drake has had Easton for an entire weekend and over night by himself. He was very nervous, although he would never admit it. He was asking all kinds of questions each night leading up to the weekend. I do have to say that you will be pleasantly surprised with how well he did.

This was Easton's line up with Daddy for the weekend:

- Saturday Morning Drake took Easton to the mall playground that is close by.

-Saturday Afternoon Drake took Easton to Home Depot to also get some of the chores taken care of that I had a on a list for him.

I hope everyone takes note of who else was in the cart... yep, he even took Chloe with him. :)

-Saturday Evening Drake took Easton and Chloe to the park, so Easton could swing!

- Sunday Morning, Easton got waffles made by Daddy

- Sunday Afternoon Easton and Daddy have a nice little lunch

Please notice that Drake carried the diaper bag all the way in with him.. I just wish I could have seen that! He also brought all of Eastons food to the restaurant. Such a good daddy!

- Sunday Evening they had another trip to the playground at the mall

I would say that Drake did pretty darn good considering he has never taken him out on his own either. I do think that Drake might have gotten himself into a little problem... Easton will now expect this all the time! I know Easton thinks Daddy is way cooler than Mommy.. I am sure not doing all of that! :) And did I mention, that I only got ONE phone call about what to do!!! :)

I was super proud of Drake and I loved seeing my boys play together. So while they were enjoying their weekend, I was in Napa with my grandma and her friend Suzie. We had a great time and really enjoyed the wine!

Hawaii...

Last week Drake and I got a nice little treat and got to go to Hawaii! We left Easton at with Grandparents and off we went. It was so nice to just feel "normal" again! It was nice to just carry a clutch instead of an over flowing bag of baby gear. I didn't have one once of spit up on me for 5 days, that was amazing! So you get the idea, on the flip side I felt like I saw little babies everywhere. Each time I saw one, I totally missed Easton's big grin and his little laugh.

Non the less, it was nice to get away and have some fun! My friend Gina was there too, so we went hiking one morning and on some walks to explore the island. Drake and I went snorkeling one day, and I loved it. I got to see lots of pretty fish. Other than that, we laid out, relaxed and might have had a few drinks or two.. :)

Here are some pics..

I don't have a lot of great pictures, it was hard to carry the camera around! So this is all I got!

E's first visit to Cabelas...

Yesterday was a big adventure for Mr.E!!! He had his first trip to my dad's favorite store!! Cabelas!!!!! While girls can spend hours at the mall, my dad can literally spend hours at Cabelas!! I on the other hand can not spend more than 5 seconds there, thank goodness for the displays and aquarium! Easton was fascinated as well by these!! Here are some pictured from our trip!!

Easton was to interested in all the animals to smile for a picture!

Easton loved the aquarium and was not one bit scared of the fish!

More fish up there...

Easton asked Pop if he could go on a safari hunt!! Pop said sure! :)

I can't wait to be posting about Easton and Pop's first hunting trip together!

Best gift I have ever given...

We all dream about our weddings as little girls. We think about our dress, the flowers, the cakes and well obviously who will the groom be??? Planning my wedding was pretty easy for the most part and things went smoothly, until I started thinking about what will I get Drake for a wedding present?? I was at a loss, this is not on our list when we dream about our weddings as a kid!!

When watching all my cheesy lifetime movies that I love, I always saw brides give the grooms these amazing gifts, but these gifts were not in my budget, so what to get.. I was very stressed about this, and just to put it out there, I will let you know Drake of course was not stressed about this, because he just didn't get me anything!! :) I don't know how I still made it down then Aile, how come nobody told me he was just setting the stage for the married life of no gifts.. some one should have told me to run while I still could! :) kidding..

So anyways back to my gift.. after some long thought, I came up with what I thought was a great gift. Drake's dad had past away a few years before, and I know that he misses him a lot but misses him most on big important days/events and when he needs advice. So I decided to make sure his Dad was by his side on the day of our wedding. I got a pocket watch and put a picture of his mom and dad on their wedding day in the watch. This way he could have the watch in his pocket on the day of the wedding, and his dad would be right by his side to guide him. Drake loved the gift, but little did I know that this would be a gift that he truly treasured and thought of often.

Last Tuesday I came home for a day, and as I was scrambling to unpack and repack, I noticed that the pocket watch was sitting out on the dresser. At first, I thought this was weird, because it has a nice little home in a special box, it is never out. Then it came to me, Drake had taken it out and carried it with him to the 49er game ( which for those that don't know, was one of the biggest games ever). Tears started to fill my eyes as I thought about how special it is to know that at 30 something years old ( he won't admit his age) he wanted his Daddy by his side... I know he talked to him all about the game and realied on him when the game got tense!!

This is not the first time that the pocket watch has come out, he also grabbed it when we left for the hospital to have Easton. He had it in his pocket the whole labor..

I knew that the gift of the pocket watch would be great for the wedding, I just had no idea that it would be a gift of comfort and guidence for him for a lifetime, therefore, I just don't think I can ever give a better gift to someone.  So maybe I should just jump on the no gift theme like him :) .. Kidding, I just think it is the sweetest thing that he grabs it when he needs his Dad!
