Really California..

OMG.. I officially just found the number one reason while California is not my favorite place. I went to the grocery store today and decided to do the self check out since I only had 3 items, the first thing I scan is my water bottles that are $3.99( so I think), they show up as $3.99 on the screen and then below it as if I had scanned another item, shows this CRV for $1.20. At this point, I am confused, I did not scan anything else nor do I have any items for this amount. So like an annoying customer who wants to complain over $1.20, I ask,"mam, what is this charge, I don't understand will it came from." The lady looks at me like I am stupid and says, it's the CRV charge duh.. I look back at her with a what the heck is a CRV charge??

She explains to me that every time you buy plastic, glass, or cans California thinks it is OK to charge you a California Recycle Something charge to ensure that you recycle your plastics, glass, and cans.. I mean really, this is ridiculous.. but I am still confused at this point and she goes on to tell me that I can get my money back, so I start to ease up and think, Oh OK this is not so bad.. only to find out that you have to take your bottles, cans, and glass YOURSELF to a recycle center to get your money back.. REALLY

So in my head I start to process the fact that I pay for a recycle service that is mandatory at my house with the trash service, I apparently now have to pay to buy the plastic, glass or cans, and the ONLY way to get my $1.20 back is to bag up the bottles and take them to a center.. how in the world does California think this makes since, oh yeah that is right, they find any way they can to take your money!!!

So guess what I am doing this afternoon, yep you guessed, I am setting up a new trash can for just the bottles, cans and glass so I can make my trips to the recycle center to get my money back.. :)they are not getting my money! So we now have a regular garage can, a get your money back recycle can, and a normal recycle can to put out front... I would say this is crazy... Texas you just wait for when we come back, we will need a moving van just for our different trash cans...

( By the way this is not just over a $1.20, but that is just the water bottles, not the other things that you also get charged for times how many times you buy these things... and Drake family don't worry I will get over it, and soon love California! :) )

Chloe goes to the beach.. Santa Cruz

First things first today, we finally got INTERNET!! That is right, I don't have to make my daily Barnes and nobles trip just to use their Internet, and then feel bad for not buying any books! :)

The weekend was just as exciting, one of Drake's clients offered us his beach house for the weekend! We felt sorry for ourselves for having to deal with the last few weeks, so we didn't hesitate and asked "when do we leave"! This was not just a beach house, but one of the nicest I have ever seen, and to top it off, it was right on the water, it was such a treat!

We toured around a bit, got brunch, layed out, Chloe ran around and we relaxed, it was perfect!! Here are some pictures from the trip!

Chloe was not sure about the water, and the water got her one time, it was funny!

Chloe made a friend!

Yeah, I rule the beach!!

Come on Dad, you are not fast enough..

Just another day in the life of Chloe..

Getting used to things...

It has been a week since we moved our stuff in and guess what I am BORED... who would have guessed! :) I got the house all done and now, there is nothing to do but shop, and let's not forget I don't have a job, so shopping is not the best thing for me to be doing right now!

Drake's mom was suppose to come in this weekend, however she got sick so she was not able to come, which was a real bummer, I was so excited to see her!! So, instead I went to go see Lisa and her family, one of Drake's sisters!! She just had a sweet little girl, named Stella and I tell you what, she is the best baby in the whole world!! She sleeps through the night and she is pretty quite, I hope my baby is like that one day! Lisa told me not to get my hopes up, that she is just extra good!

Tonight is the first home 49er game and it kills me that the game is at 5:30, who plays that early on a Monday, but I forget that we have to play early so it is on during a normal time for everyone else, this is another reason why Texas is better! :) All times are normal since Texas is  right in the middle of all time zones!

So now that I am on my soap box about things I "will have to get used to", here are a few more:

1) Prime time shows come on at 8pm, not 7, yet Keeping up with the Kardarsians comes on at 7 not 9, someone please explain that to me!
2) Motorcycles can just drive right between you and another car on the highway, I think I might kill one before it is all set and done
3) Not being able to talk on your cell phone in the car.. :(
4) Coke or Dr. Pepper Products are not at any major drink fountains, only Pespi Products .. Yuck
5) In and Out, is no Whataburger..

Things that will take no time at all to get used to are:
1) Weather, it is perfect
2) You can walk everywhere, which is fun
3) Drake's family being close is so fun, I have already seen three siblings in less than a week!

Well I think that is about all that I am used to for now, but miss and love everyone! Picture's of the house will be up soon!

Finally we have a home...

After 4 long days, but what seems like 4 long weeks, we have decided where we are going to live. We are staying in the original house that we started with. Yes, I know we both were unsure about this option, but really we had no choice. However, we both feel confident that God is putting us right where we need to be!! We spent the last few days looking at new houses and putting offers on a few. None of our offers were accepted, so we feel that God was really directing us back to our original plan!

The house is really cute and we know once we get over the fact that it HAD ( being the key word) bugs in it, we will be perfectly fine and so happy!! They did bomb the house and replace all the carpets and paint walls, so all in all I am getting all new stuff!!

We finally get our stuff off the truck in the morning and hopefully I will be spending the next few days getting our life back in order! We have laughed at ourselves over the past few days, as we each only have a few clean cloths left, I am almost out of contacts, we have stuff in 4 different places and have slept in 6 different hotels/houses over the past 7 days.. we have defiantly created some memories that will last forever and hopefully be a lot funnier as we tell the story then the last few days actually were.

Love to everyone and thanks so much for all your support and prayers through this crazy week!! We can't wait to have people over to our "flea" house! :) ... kidding there are no more! fleas!!

Where in the world do I begin..

So I think I will begin with the positive stuff first! The trip out to California was off to a great start, I landed BEFORE my arrival time, now how often does that happen! I then quickly got to my car and all that jazz and was off to my first 49er game in less than an hour. The day could not have gone better, however then our tidal wave made a slow entrance..

Drake called and told me that we were going to need to stay in a hotel since he had been over to our rent house and it was not "type A clean freak" ready for me! :) So I should have taken this as a red flag but I decided that the day was too good to let that get me down! Chloe loved the hotel because she was greeted with a bowl and a bag of treats when we entered the room! Hotel number 1 down.

The next two days were spent letting the tidal wave that was about to hit us get all wound up. We enjoyed a lovely day in Napa and a Day in the city with our friends Lindsay and Corey. It was a great trip and a perfect way to get my feet wet in San Fran. We stayed in two different hotels one in Napa and one in the city, so needless to say when we called down to get our car pulled up and check out, we were ready to go to our NEW HOME and stay! Hotel 2 and 3 down.

This is when it poured.. my car would not start for the valet guy! We finally jump it and head home. Meanwhile Drake's brakes decided they would go out. So we are in a place we know nothing about on Labor day,  you try to get things taken care of? We get Drake's car in to get new brakes, but have to use my car to get around for the day, so comically enough Drake would stay in the car to make sure it didn't die while I would run in the stores. Can we say Ghetto!

Car gets taken care of early Tuesday morning, but lets just say their Lexus Dealership is no Sewell! The day is looking brighter since the movers call me shortly after to tell me our stuff will be here on Wednesday, the next day.. and Drake's birthday!! Perfect.. let's move forward to 10:30 at night..

Chloe has been scratching herself and acting funny for a bit, so Drake decides to pick her up and this is when I freak out.. Chloe had about 50 flea's ( and I am not not lying) all over her.. GROSS, GROSS, GROSS... so we start trying to clean her and long story short we were up all night just waiting for the sun to come up. In these hours we figured out that the whole house is infested with flea's and fly's to top it off... So we decide we are not going to let our things get unloaded today, I had to sadly work out a deal with the movers to keep our stuff on the truck for a few more days, while we either have the landlords fix this problem or we find a new place to live, this was very hard, since I have been waiting for our stuff for so long and I would not say it was a deal, I won't even talk about that cost..

So we are now at the point where we looked at some options of new places today, the landlords are putting in new carpeting and bombing the house, but we are still not sure we are comfortable with everything.. I will keep you posted... :(

So needless to say Drake is not having a good birthday today and I now call blogging therapy..

90210... what a big day!!

So today's date is quite fitting for this day in the Drake family!! The day started off with Drake's sister, Jenny having her baby! I have been anxiously awaiting the babies arrival, for the mere fact that Jenny and Brad did not find out the sex of the baby!! This has been driving me nuts and I know that they love that fact! :) So today they welcomed a sweet baby GIRL.... which being that she was born on 90210 in the state of California, has to mean that she is set for pure stardom in Hollywood one day!! I can't wait to meet her!!

Today also happens to be the day Chloe and I make our way to California. I think there is no other way to head to the state of stars and celebrities then on 90210!! Our flight has been great so far, and Chloe has literally been a rock star on this journey today! She might be a bit spoiled when it comes to riding around in the car and getting whatever she wants, but today she has to ride in her cute new carrying bag that I got her! I feared that she would cause me humiliation when putting her in the bag in front of the hustle and bustle and every so patient crowds you find at the airport, but she did not!! Chloe first fell asleep on the taxi ride to the airport and then after we went through security and it was time to get back in the bag, she literally almost walked right back into it like she had done it a 100 times. I had a proud mommy moment! We are still in the air right now and she has been passed out since we took off! So hopefully the rest of the trip will go as smoothly as the first half!

Since I will have lived in San Fran for less then 24 hours, I thought it was fitting that I not waste another minute and head up to Napa. So, we are headed up to Napa Friday and are spending the the Labor Day weekend there!! Everyone have a great Labor Day and a great rest of 90210!!
